Name That Stuff
Mystery Item

Many thanks to all who participated in our last “Name That Stuff” contest. We received about 24 responses … many of which were actually correct! (For those of you still wondering, the mystery shot was a picture of the guides and latches for lifting containers on the back of a rearloader, a safety device used for commercial container pickups.) Here’s this issue’s stumper … Once again, the first 5 people with the correct answer win some neat stuff. Email your answer to info@savethatstuff.com. Good luck!

AT YOUR SERVICE

Meet Adalton Teixeira

Adaltan TexeiraMany of Save That Stuff's paper recycling customers know Dalton by name. He has become a familiar sight as he drives through Cambridge on Friday, and through Boston on Monday and Thursday. One group of people who may not know him as well are the students at Boston College — many of them are still sleeping when he finishes his Tuesday run there, before moving on to Brookline. Dalton has an amazing memory, which makes him a terrific asset to the company, and to his customers, since he easily remembers the fine details of each customer's needs. Originally from Brazil, Dalton enjoys his annual trips back home to visit friends and family. He is the proud father of three children.

MIXED PAPER RECYCLING …

If you can rip it, you can recycle itIt just gets easier and easier to do your part

Remember when paper recycling meant painstakingly sorting your paper so that the only paper in the bin was white? Those days are long gone … and paper recycling now includes almost anything. As they say … "If you can rip it, you can recycle it." Make sure your team is maximizing your paper recycling with this simple poster that can be hung near any paper recycling areas. To get your posters, call Adam at 617.241.9998 or email at adam@savethatstuff.com.

Please note: This article also appeared in our Spring 2006 newsletter, as a refresher on the many types of paper you can recycle with Save That Stuff.

Caring for your cart … (Yes, you do need to care for your cart!)

Champions in RecyclingSave That Stuff has thousands of green, blue and brown carts hard at work … holding recyclables and compost for our clients. They are one of the three pillars of our collection system*, and a part of your "physical plant". Given how hard they work, these carts need some TLC every now and then, especially food waste and can and bottle carts. Gently wipe the top of the cart lid with soap and water to keep it looking good. Periodically give the interior a refreshing shower to keep it smelling clean. Believe us … it's a small thing to do to keep your carts in great shape!

*The other two pillars are our trucks and our team, of course!
