Class A or B CDL Driver

STS, a full-service waste hauling, transfer, and scrap recycling operation has been an independent operated business since 1990. We currently have over 3000 commercial clients that range from hospitals and business parks to malls and government agencies.

STS has new openings for CDL Drivers Class B Driver

The qualified candidate should be able to safely operate a heavy-duty truck and is responsible for preparing, loading, and transporting large mobile open top and compactor containers to disposal sites, transfer or recycle facilities and costumer locations. Roll-Off Drivers will navigate driveways, alleyways, lots, high traffic roadways and may operate in tight overhead environments while on industrial routes. Highly skilled backing maneuvers are essential, to successfully perform this job.

 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current CDL operator’s license
  • Clean driving record
  • Current DOT qualifications
  • Ability to stoop bend. Twist, throw and work in a variety of climates and environmental conditions.

Other Knowledge and Skills:

  • Good customer services skills; always acts in a professional and courteous manner towards customers and workers, strives to meet and exceed customer expectations;
  • Good time management skills; ability to adhere to work schedule and able to ensure assigned responsibilities are completed in an efficient and safe manner.
  • Ability to adhere to Company policies; promotes the Companies safety standards; does not take inappropriate risks.

Operations Support Specialist

Our Operations Support is a multi-faceted role responsible for customer service, data integrity, dispatching, driver/office/sales communication, and safety.

The majority of the position is spent supervising collections activities through driver(s), customer(s) and sales interactions. Operations Support is our frontline leader that ensures proper utilization and coordination of the drivers, trucks, and containers to create capacity, maximize productivity and prompt, courteous and efficient service to all customers. Operations Support ensures adherence to all accident prevention programs and leads operations to ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, operating, regulatory, accounting, ethics and other standards. Responsibilities include the execution and delivery of Safety, Customer Experience, and Efficiency.

 

Responsibilities

  • Ensure maximum driver productivity
  • Assign loads to drivers based on designated routes and driver location
  • Prepare, update and dispense the daily route schedule
  • Gather and maintain route sheet documentation for collection, route completions, and driver locations
  • Ensure route completion via the driver check-in process
  • Courteously interact with customers, as required
  • Report driver performance issues or concerns to appropriate management for resolution
  • Follow all required safety policies and procedures
  • Understand and provide support to achieve and communicate about safety goals and objectives
  • Work to document and remove unsafe conditions or situations from drivers’ routes
  • Work with the sales to identify and eliminate any unsafe conditions on the route
  • Partner with the maintenance department to ensure all equipment remains in working order and in compliance with safety standards.
  • Actively participate in a culture of safety by demonstration of a personal commitment to safe operations.
  • Provide service to all customers that meets or exceeds customer expectations with regard to the entire customer experience.
  • Resolve unusual service requests, equipment breakdowns and schedule changes with timely communications
  • Interact with customers to solve and rectify any issues and improve the overall customer experience
  • Serve as a positive representative of the Company to drive customer satisfaction and loyalty to the Company
  • Perform other job-related duties as needed or assigned.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Solid Waste & Recycle Industry Experience.
  • Two years of prior experience driving heavy commercial trucks, and/ or working as a dispatcher.
  • Able to direct staff.
  • Is process-oriented and results-oriented in setting and pursuing goals, demonstrating a strong commitment to organizational success and marshaling resources to accomplish goals and objectives.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, analytical, critical-thinking and decision-making skills.
  • Is collaborative; builds and works with teams.
  • Creative thinker who challenges conventional solutions.
  • Demonstrates and promotes ethical behavior.
  • Has strong leadership skills and proven judgment of talent.
  • 1 year of lead or supervisory experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field.

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, analytical, critical-thinking and decision-making skills.
